But that's enough about the parents.

We broke our season record with 21 racers turning up to compete in the event. Yes that 21 smashing our previous season record. We had lots of first time racers who experienced the thrills of racing. We had riders ranging from 6 to 14 with numerous personal bests. It was great to see so many riders taking to the track.

Team KCA has riders across the country this weekend with Tim at Plymouth competing in the British Schools Event. Seth, Mackenzie and Austin are heading to Litchfield in the Zip Vit CC youth race. Other riders will be at Brooksbank Track at Halifax for the Pedalsport Crit #4. Which is pre registration only.

Thursday see's the WRYL at the Brownlee centre in Leeds.

Good luck to all those racing

After the White Rose Youth League on Wednesday, all the races this weekend were further a field. We saw a team of 4 head west to race in the North-West Youth Series at Southport. Austin, Josh, Mackenzie and Sam all competed in 2 races each and the pick of the riders was Mackenzie who won both the short race and the long race.

Sunday the team headed North to Middlesbrough and along with the 4 riders from Southport Alfie, Callum and Seth also raced. More success saw Austin win his first ever race, he dominated the race from start to finish and took the win comfortably. In the under 10 Race which included Sam and Alfie, who are both improving week on week. Mackenzie and Seth got away with a group of 7 riders and Mackenzie set a high pace to try and thin the pack down, but the pack stayed together. As the riders approached the last bend Seth went on the attack and got some distance between him and the group and crossed the line to win by 3 bike Lengths. Mackenzie was involved in the sprint for the podium places, but was pipped on the line.

Callum and Josh raced in the under 12 and 14 race. The races in the North East are considerably longer than in Yorkshire and the length of the races were really good for both the riders. They both had strong starts and dropped off in the middle and had a spurt near the end.

Well done to the KCA race team

The White Rose Youth League returned to Richard Dunn. KCA Race Team had 12 riders racing. In the under 8 Race we had 3 riders Lewis and Sienna returned to the track and Sienna got a second in the Girls race.

The Star Rider was Austin, who touched wheels on the start line and came off. He got back on his bike and struggled to get clipped in. Austin was in last place, with the leaders having a good 30 second start. Lap by lap Ausin picked off the riders and worked his way upto 4th place.

The under 10 race saw big improvements from Alfie and Sam. Sam raced in a pack of first year under 10s and was still pushing at the end of the race. Seth and Mackenzie both got good starts and set a high tempo to the race. Seth took the win and Mackenzie 2nd.

The under 12 race saw Jacob and Isobel racing, both riders are in there first season of racing and are both learning and improving with every race.

The under 14s saw Josh, Tim and Tom. Josh, also in his first season racing is improving with every race. Tim and Tom spent the whole race in the lead group and when the pace picked up on the last lap they moved up the field and Tim got 6th and Tom 8th.

Well done to the KCA race team.

KCA had 11 riders race in the Good Friday event at York. We had a 2nd for Austin in the under 8s and George had his best result to date. . Mackenzie got a 2nd and Seth a 3rd in the under 10 Race, which also included Alfie and Sam. Callum was the sole rider in the under 12's Race, Josh, Tim and Tom all battled it out in the under 14 race and Henry was the only KCA rider in the under 16 race. At this point, I need to point out that no KCA girls raced......

Seth also raced at Middlesborough on Saturday where he got 1st place. He went on an early break with an under 12 rider, they worked well together and got a big lead on the rest of the field. He also raced again on Bank Holiday Monday in Yarborough where he got a 2nd place.

This weeks rider of the week is Seth with 3 races and three podiums.

Well done to all KCA riders.

This week sees the return of The White Rose Youth League. Whos racing..........
