Training‎ > ‎

Wakefield Junior Triathlon club with whom we collaborate with at both the Velodrome and Go-Ride Racing have kindly offered the opportunity for KCA members that wish to further develop their Cyclo-Cross skills to join their training sessions on a Wednesday evening.

The sessions are held at Thornes Park in Wakefield. You can join in using either a Mountain bike, or a purpose built Cyclo-Cross bike.

The sessions are from 18:30 until around 19:45.
The cost is £1.00 per rider.

Either turn up on the night or contact Ian O'Brien on email

For older members

For older members of the KCA looking to get in more road miles you may be interested in joining an informal group of riders that meet every Wednesday night outside the Ritz Ballroom just outside Brighouse at 18:45. Mick Collins a KCA club volunteer and trainee Level 2 Coach is usually there and normally leads the ride out.

The ride is normally 2 to 2.5 hours long, at a brisk pace so is suited to fit riders over 14 years of age, ideally accompanied by a parent.

The ride takes in the local area such as Halifax, Todmorden, Ripponden, Huddersfield so is typically quite hilly and you must have mudguards, good lights (front and rear) and warm clothing and gloves during winter months.

There is of course an inherent risk with riding at night so no liability can be accepted by any individual or the KCA if you choose to go along. We are just looking to make you aware of other opportunities to develop yourself outside regular club nights and coaching sessions on offer.

For more information drop me your details to and I will make sure Mick Collins gets them straight away.
